Beastie and I found The Foresters Arms hidden away in a little street in the suburbs of Horsham. This dog friendly Pub has a wonderful reputation among the locals and is well known for it’s excellent food.
The Forester’s building dates back to before 1876 when it was probably used as workers cottages and St Leonard’s Road was formerly known as Doomsday Green Lane which lead into St Leonards forest.
We were greeted at the front door by ‘Ducati’ Duke the most handsome Rhodesian Ridge Back who was there with his human Ben Rockey.
Please note that dogs must be well behaved, kept on a leash and controlled at all times when the pub is busy.
Inside the pub was warm, cosy and everyone was really friendly, Gail Hiskey the very beautiful Lusaka born Bar Lady made us feel right at home!
There is a private dining room which will seat up to 12 comfortably or 16 with a bit of a squeeze. Nick Williams is the Chef and independent operator of The Forester’s Kitchen.
There is something for everyone on the menu even for annoying vegetarians such as myself. Please follow the link to view the current Menu for The Foresters Arms
It is always advisable to try and book your table ahead , especially for larger parties but for Nick’s famous Sunday Roast making a reservation is a MUST.

There is also a large secure garden at the back of the pub with an undercover smoking area and a log burning stove that keeps the cold at bay during the winter months.
